Life and critical illness is insurance for the family. Its a lump sum, or monthly amount paid out by the insurance provider. This can be taken out for specific sum assured and over a particular term required. Life insurance covers the person insured in the event of death and critical illness insurance covers the person insured on diagnosis of a defined critical illness.

Each insurance company covers a certain amount of defined definitions ranging from 25 to 166. Some of these definitions are what is referred to as ABI – Association of Business Insurers, meaning out of those particular amount of definitions some of them are up to the ABI standard.
